About The Song

“I’ll Never Fall In Love Again” is a song originally written by Lonnie Donegan and Jimmy Currie in 1962.

However, it is often associated with Elvis Presley, who recorded a version of the song in 1976.

Recorded in the “Jungle Room” and included as the final song on the album “From Elvis Presley Boulevard Memphis, Tennessee” (1976). Elvis struggles to keep this one together at times vocally, as just some unbelieveable emotion is transmitted to the listener. It seems at times, Elvis is about to start actually crying and at other points he shouts the lyrics. They said people present at his recordings of “Are You Lonesome Tonight” and “How Great Thou Art” were moved to tears, and I can imagine the ones present for this recording were too. “Hurt” opened this album and it is was emotional, this song closed it and it is gut-wrenching.

I’ve been in love so many timesI thought I knew the scoreNow you treated me so wrongI can’t take anymore
And it looks likeI’m never gonna fall in love again
Fall in loveI’m never gonna fall in loveI mean it, I mean itFall in love again
I gave my heart so easilyCast aside my prideWhen I saw you in his arms, babyI broke up and cried
And it looks likeI’m never gonna fall in love againThat’s what I’m sayin’
Fall in loveNo, I’m never gonna fall in lovePlease, don’t make meFall in love again
That’s what I’m- (fall in love)No, I’m never gonna fall in lovePlease, don’t make me, don’t make meFall in love again
